Slide 35: one of a collection of lantern slides shown at Clondalkin branch library c 1910. Description given in booklet: Going down the Valley of Kedron, we come to the Pool of Siloam, of all the Pools spoken of in Scripture-the most celebrated. A modern writer speaks of this place as a “most disappointing pool, with dry stone walls and a little muddy water below”; but to those who remember the rich and venerable associations connected with “Siloa’s brook that flowed fast by the oracle of God,” its desolate appearance and ruinous condition invest it only with a deeper interest. Its waters are thought by the natives to possess healing powers, and this has arisen very probably from our Saviour's words-“ Go, wash in the Pool of Siloam.”en_IE
