Description: A portrait of Lord Kilwarden (1739-1803). Originally from Forenaughts Co. Kildare, Arthur Wolfe was born in 1973. Later he resided at Newlands House, Clondalkin. He was a warden of St John's Church, Clondalkin. He was appointed Chief Justice of the Kings Bench in 1798 and became Baron Kilwarden. He received a viscountcy and peerage in 1800 for supporting the union between Britain and Ireland yet in 1803 he was murdered with his nephew after they were dragged from their coach in Thomas Street.
