dc.descriptionHandwritten note concerning Crumlin water supply from T.J. Byrne, Clerk of South Dublin Rural District Council to Clerk of Rathmines Urban District Council, referring to meeting held on 17th October, and pointing to accompanying statement showing number of houses in area of supply. Statement estimates 158 houses in Crumlin area, valued at £931 in total. 62 valued at £2 and under, 22 are labourers' cottages built by the council. Estimated population, at 5 per house: 790. In 1901, the number of houses was 130, and the population was 619. Goes on to suggest possible expansion of area to Whitehall crossroads, Greenhills crossroads and north and south to Mount Argus and Fortfield, including estimates of consequent population expansion.en_IE
