Description: "Revitalising Areas by Planning, Investment and Development". Under the the National Agreement, The Programme for Prosperity and Fairness, the government committed itself to tackling the spatial concentration of poverty and exclusion in urban areas. In order to do so, the RAPID ( Revitalising Areas by Planning, Investment & Development) programme was launched in 2001. RAPID provides for investment and development relating to youth development, unemployment, childcare and community facilities, drug misuse, housing, education, health and policing.
