Description: Hermann Köhl (15 April 1888 – 7 October 1938) was a German aviation pioneer who along with Ehrenfried Günther Freiherr von Hünefeld and Commandant James C. Fitzmaurice of the Irish Air Corps left Baldonnel on 12 April 1928 on the first transatlantic flight from East to West eventually landing at Greenly Island on the south coast of Labrador Canada in a Junkers W 33 aircraft named Bremen.
