Description: The Bavarian Military Merit Cross of the World War 1914/1918 (left) was instituted in 1866 and awarded for bravery and military merit. This version has swords, indicating an award during WWI. The Honour Cross (right) was established by Hindenburg in July 1934 for WWI service. The swords indicate the recipient saw action in WWI. Award document is named to a Master Tailor from Obernkirchen near Hanover.
