Issue Date: 1914
Description: During WW1 silk postcards were bought as souvenirs by soldiers from local French and Belgian women. The women embroidered the different motifs onto strips of silk which were sent to factories to make postcards. There were two kinds of cards, one was a piece of silk mounted onto a card, the other was two pieces of silk sewn and mounted to form an envelope which contained a card message. The card has embossed edges and shows what appears to be a butterfly image.
