Slide 72: one of a collection of lantern slides shown at Clondalkin branch library c 1910. Description given in booklet: Near Banias are the fountains which form the chief source of the Jordan, from which indeed it springs forth a full grown stream. In a lovely spot, embowered among wild flowers, rises an immense spring of cool sweet water. More than one fierce combat has taken place to obtain possession of it, and here Lot was brought a prisoner from Sodom by the five kings of Mesopotamia, and hither Abram came to rescue him.en_IE
