Description: | One of a series of interviews by Anne O'Gorman Weber, part of a joint project between Peamount Healthcare and South Dublin Libraries commemorating Peamount Hospital's centenary in 2014. Emily Fitzpatrick's uncle, Dr. George Philip Houston Sheehan was Resident Medical Superindendent from 1921 to 1929. At the time of the interview she was living in the Superintendent's 200 year old house surrounded by his memorabilia and mementoes from his ex-patients. She remembers him as a generous and celebrated doctor who is referred to in a poem written by O’Shea in the twenties. |
