Description: | View of St. Maelruain's House also known as Glebe House which stood opposite where Exchange Hall now stands. Built in 1825 to replace an earlier house. A Rev. Lovett was the first occupant. Its garden was celebrated for roses and apples. The house changed hands many times first under lease and was sold into private ownership in the 1930's. By 1983 the Glebe House was vacant and was extensively vandalised. It was demolished in January 1984. |
