Description: Interior leaves of an untitled, unlined, black leather bound notebook, with lined gilt edging surround on front cover. The page on the verso is a watercolour drawing of the coat of arms of the Scott family, which are a silver shield with three black Catherine wheels within a red border engrailed. The motto is "Bien ou rien" [Translation: "Well or not at all]. Underneath the arms and motto is the family heraldry. The handwritten entry on the recto of the following page covers the history of Scott Hall and the Manor appendant. The handwritten text in the notebook as a whole contains various ink-pen entries from a number of hands,covering the origin of the Scott family, the genealogy and heraldry associated with the family, along with some genealogical notes and questions, and letters in full on the same subjects.
