Description: | Interior leaves of an untitled, unlined, black leather bound notebook, with lined gilt edging surround on front cover. The handwritten entry on the verso and recto of the pages continues the genealogy and history of the Scott family and discusses the early surname origins of the family, they being "Baliol" with the family originating in Scotland, and who may have subsequently founded Baliol College in Oxford. Discusses the origin of the three Catherine Wheel's on the family coat of arms. The handwritten text in the notebook as a whole contains various ink-pen entries from a number of hands,covering the origin of the Scott family, the genealogy and heraldry associated with the family, along with some genealogical notes and questions, and letters in full on the same subjects. |
