Description: Handwritten letter in blue and black pen and ink on white paper over 4 pages from Major Gerald Bassett Scott of the Northern Warizistan Militia in Pakistan (born in Woodville House, Lucan), to his mother, Alice Blaine Scott who lived in Locksley, Shankill, Co. Dublin. It describes in great detail a successful engagement with a large enemy incursion into their territory from Khost, and includes a hand-drawn colour map of the region with geographic and army features marked.
