This recording took place at the home of the O’Connor’s, one of the original old dwellings in the area. The house was built in 1885 by the Guinnesses for the millers. Hugh O’Connor speaks about his father’s days working on the farm as a general labourer, and the coach house, which was used to change horses before carriages proceeded to Dublin. Hugh also talks about his schooldays, and working as an apprentice fitter in Clondalkin, as well as his experiences of the Servite Order in Tyrone in 1952.en_IE
