Eddie Conroy is a native of Portlaoise, Co Laois. He qualified from UCD in 1980. Having worked in Germany for a year and then in Kildare he was employed by Dun Laoghaire Corporation. In this recording he describes his involvement in the Temple Bar development, and talks about the Dublin City Council buildings. After moving to Tallaght and South Dublin County Council, the first project he worked on was the theatre in Tallaght, for which he organised his own team of workers. He gives a great account of the planning and designing of Tallaght.en_IE
