Description: Oral history interview. Vera Crofton, Age 62, Saggart. Subject: Recollections of an only child. Vera Crofton grew up in Mill Road with her grandparents. Her father died when she was a young child. She speaks about the financial difficulties her mother endured. Her mother's closest friend was killed by the war time bombing of the North Strand and immediately afterwards she went to England to help in the war effort. In this recording Vera speaks about village life in Saggart in the fifties and sixties. The length of this recording is one hour, nine minutes and twenty five seconds.
