Description: Oral history interview. Michael Whelan, Age 38, Tallaght. Subject: Recollections of a member of the Irish Defence Forces. Michael Whelan has been a serving member of the Irish Defence Forces for sixteen years, and served with the UN Peacekeeping Forces in South Lebanon and Kosovo. He now works at Casement Airdrome in Baldonnel, where he looks after the Air Corps Museum and Heritage Project. He has taken a great interest in Irish military history, and has published articles on the subject. In this interview, he talks about his experiences overseas, while serving with the Irish Army. The length of this recording is forty four minutes and thirty nine seconds.
