Description: Colourised rendition entitled 'Leixlip Across the River' with habitation and a chuch visible. Leixlip was an early Viking settlement situated at the furthest point that longships could be rowed up the River Liffey. It was also where Arthur Guinness established his first brewery in 1755, before moving to St. James Gate in 1759.
