Description: During WW1, silk postcards were bought as souvenirs by soldiers from local French and Belgian women. The women embroidered the different motifs onto strips of silk which were sent to factories to make postcards. This example has embossed edges and consists of a single piece of silk mounted onto a card with floral design and the Royal Army Medical Corps crest.
