Description: | Slide 63: one of a collection of lantern slides shown at Clondalkin branch library c 1910. Description given in booklet: Another site is the carpenter’s workshop of Joseph. This is not genuine, but on account of the interesting association of ideas we give a picture of a modern carpenter’s shop in this town. We can easily imagine that it was at some similar place that our Saviour served His apprenticeship to Joseph. After Beyrout, Nazareth is the most interesting place in Palestine, and, judged by a modern oriental standard, the town is both clean and well-built. The population is about 6,000, of which nearly two thirds are nominal Christians. |
