| Cur Síos: | Lucan Demesne Castle and Church 17.2.35: this has a church and graveyard, the original towerhouse, of an estate that belonged to the Sarsfields of whom General Patrick Sarsfield, Earl of Lucan, who perished in 1693 at the battle of Landen. His son died in 1719, and the title became extinct, after which the estate passed though the marriage of a niece, Charlotte Sarsfield, to the Veseys, after that to the Colthurst family also by marriage. The graveyard contains monuments to those families. |
