Description: | Oral history interview. Eamon Cunningham, Age 62, Clonfert. Subject: An overview of local government in Dublin 1966-2007. Eamon is a native of Athlone, Co Westmeath, and moved to Dublin in 1966 to become an employee of Dublin County Council. He talks about his career working in local authorities. In 1994 Dublin County Council was split into three divisions – Fingal Co Council, South Dublin Co Council and Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Co Council. He was a member of the team set up to put into place this reorganisation. He moved to South Dublin Co. Council, and retired at the age of 61 having served for 41 years. The length of this recording is fifty eight minutes and twenty five seconds. |
