Description: Some pages from Eamon Ceannt’s school diary from 1897, when he was aged 16. Pages show the Anglicised version of his name in his own hand, another page showing evidence of his "Gaelicisation" - the first time he signs in Irish using cló Gaelach lettering, the first page when he titles the copybook "My diary of a School Year". Finally a page showing a stylised handwritten inscription in Latin taken from "Old Christmas": Omne bene; Sine poena; Tempus est ludendi; Venit hora, Absque mora; Libros deponendi.
